The new NTE TEXpress Lanes on Phase 2 of the I-35W corridor, from I-820 south to I-30, has a fixed pricing schedule featuring variable "time-of-day" rates for the first six months of operation. Fluctuating congestment-management pricing will be implemented in October 2018, after this initial six-month period. Rates on this 6.2 miles of new NTE TEXpress Lanes are higher during rush-hour periods on the weekdays, and lower during non-peak periods at other times of the day and on the weekends.
The pricing charts below and on the roadway pricing signs reflect TollTag, TxTag and EZ TAG rates. ZipCash pay-by-mail customers pay approximately 50% more than the posted rates due to processing fees.
Carpool drivers (a driver and at least one person) and motorcyclists can save 50% on their weekday rush-hour commutes by using the Drive On TEXpress web app or mobile app to request their discounts. Activated HOV 2+ discounts are 50% off of the rush-hour rates posted on the pricing charts below (refer to the rates that are not highlighted in blue). Learn more about HOV discount qualifications by clicking here. Additional information can also be found under 'Discounts' on the navigation bar.
HOV 2+ discounts are not available during non-rush hour time periods during the weekends or on the weekends.
All the NTE TEXpress Lanes—comprised of Northeast Loop 820, Airport Freeway and I-35W—have a total of four tolling segments, there are two tolling segments on I-35W:
Once you enter a tolling segment, you are charged for that segment. If you decide to continue to the next tolling segment, you will see a pricing sign for the second segment—well in advance to help you determine whether to continue your trip on the NTE TEXpress Lanes or exit them. When you enter the second tolling segment, you will incur a charge for that additional segment as well as each additional toll segment you drive.
Separate charges for each of the toll segments you use for a single one-way trip will then appear on your billing statement. For example, if you enter the westbound NTE TEXpress Lanes at Industrial Boulevard, then access northbound I-35W and exit at US 287, you will incur three separate toll charges for each of the toll segments you entered.
